Peace for all.
The earthquakes hit Japan last week has been driving the nation crazy.
I cannot do much about it, though, I still feel I have something to say and that is why I am writing this note.
I cannot rest my thoughts these days. Because the aftershocks are hitting regularly, and
the electricity is shutdown periodically so that we, as a country, have enough of them for those
in worse circumstances.
And I cannot help the situation. I am a young, energetic, and educated man who has a lot of voluntary spirit,
but all I can do is to watch news, talk to people, eat, sleep... I have to admit that I am "powerless" and
"useless" to face this kind of situation. I enrolled in English/Spanish translation project but since I can only
devote a part of my time, and there are hundreds of brightest people out there to do that kind of job
immediately and more effectively, I doubt I can contribute in that manner of activity.
My family, friends, and I are all safe luckily.
Now is the time to help those who are not.
Here are what we need to do right now.
I know there is nothing new on the list, but we need to keep ourselves reminded constantly,
so that we know what to do, and why we are doing.
1. Prepare for the worst circumstances.
- There is still a high risk of us to getting another shake.
- Please consider to take "as much as needed", not "as much as wanted".
2. Know what's up / Don't panic.
- Try to get the "right" information. Note that all the news aren't all true.
3. Donate
- People in the disaster place are urgently in need; not just surviving but also recovering & restructuring.
4. Save Electricity.
- Nuclear plants are in stake. We need to save our electricity.
5. Work & Study
- I know it is not the best time to concentrate the work and study,
but the future of Japan depends on how much we can work!!
If you don't have work, study!
If you don't have work, study!
Sure it is a hard time for us Japanese.
Yet we would like to move on as we did it for many times and more.
We shall overcome! Pray for Japan!!!!!
See you in better circumstance!
See you in better circumstance!
