how cultures morph into business

pop cultures have been always a good business.
your favorite singer, band, movie star...etc they have a lot to do with our daily life and the way
how the business approach to consumers.
and today, since it is so global, the business can turn into one place to another so quickly and drastically.
but...that is not I want to talk about today...

I just wanted to point out this notion of social entrepreneur....
It seems to me, that artist in 90s may have do a little about the situation.
Artists like radiohead, and coldplay,,,they had a great exposure about social contribution and the world
in whatever they do... I just wondering...has it effected to real "business" world today in any way??
Now I notice that musicians always have taken up social theme and the world of poverty as a matter of their subject.
Also, in the economic situation like this, music has a lot to do with it...

in past few decades, much of music movements came from economic depression era...yet, this time we haven't seen much of these have we?

So, my guess is that the "power of innovation" has finally turned into business world instead of music...
because...back then it took only 1 guitar and 3 other guys to change the world, but today it only takes 1 laptop computer to do it.
